Vodafone Smart 858 Mobile Phone Review

The Vodafone Smart 858 has been introduced to the market as a low budget Android mobile phone that is very small. It seems to have all the ‘bells and whistles’, but at 70 pounds you really can’t complain about what it’s lacking.

The Smart 858 is extremely compact and lightweight making us forget at times that we had it in our pocket. The Smart 858 runs on the Android 2.2 Froyo which gives you access to the Android Marketplace. With all the apps and games available to you, you are guaranteed not to get bored. The device can even be turned into a USB dongle or a Wi-Fi hotspot.

The 2 mega pixel camera is definitely not the best we’ve seen on a mobile phone and there is no flash, so you are pretty much stuck with taking photos during the day. The photos taken in bright daylight are okay for internet use, but not for printing and putting into a photo album. On the bright side, it only takes a couple of seconds for the shots to process, so you can take a lot of photos in a short amount of time.

When it comes to memory, you have the ability to expand up to 32GB with a micro SD card so you should have plenty of room for all your music and photos. Unfortunately, the sound quality on the Smart 858 isn’t the best.

Vodafone Smart 858 gets better in every release, some may become costly but more and more mobile phones are getting cheaper. There are various ways to save money and you can get a free PS3 with phone contract if ever you want to buy one.
