The first thing that will catch your eye is the impressive 4”, 16M color Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen. This is a scratch resistant screen that offers multi-touch support. The only draw-back is that this stunning screen is encased in a plastic body.
There are a few drawbacks with the Windows7 operating system. For one thing, this unit depends entirely on Zune to sync their media files. Also, while most of its competitors are offering multi-tasking and video calls, this mobile phone lacks both.
When it comes to connectivity, the Omnia7 provides Bluetooth, GPS, 3G, Wi-Fi and micro USB. For web browsing this unit offers Internet Explorer, unfortunately the lack of Flash and Silverlight does hamper the browsing experience.
As mentioned previously, this device uses the Windows Phone7 operating system. Some of the features offered with this operating system are: Windows Live, XBOX Live, SkyDrive and more. There is also Zune which allows the user to sync their media wirelessly and Microsoft Office Suite for creating documents.
All in all, the Samsung Omnia7 is a solid addition to the Samsung family. However, the Windows 7 software does not seem to meet everyone’s needs.
