Motorola once dominated the world of mobile phone technology, however they dropped off the radar a bit when smartphones began to emerge. Though you’re probably more familiar with the likes of Samsung and HTC in mobile phones now, Motorola are getting back into the game releasing reliable, high-quality handsets, which is, after all, their forte. The Motorola Pro is the latest handset to add to their new range and has proved worthy of the hype, enjoying huge success since it’s launch in the United States.
With so many people in the UK preferring high-end mobile phone manufacturer’s releases, can the Pro conquer the British market? Marketed as an Android powered business phone, the Motorola Pro seems to be a professional handset worthy of the professional business user. Though most business users will stay ever-faithful to RIM’s BlackBerry handset, we can confirm that the Pro is capable of changing your perception of what the best business phone is.
When you first see the Pro there are obvious similarities to the traditional BlackBerry design, namely the presence of a full QWERTY keyboard that dominated the front of the handset. Having said that, the screen takes up decidedly less space than on a BlackBerry, so there is room for a bigger screen. The keys of the keyboard are well spaced and comfortable, feeling firm beneath the fingers, however some may feel they would prefer larger keys.
Thanks to that extra space the capacitive touchscreen measures a good 3.1 inches. You’ll notice the excellent colour clarity, which makes it great for viewing e-mails and texts, as well as just watching video clips on YouTube. We were pleased to find that the screen itself is incredibly responsive so e-mailing and texting is quicker than we expected, thus we pleased with the fact Motorola kept the keyboard small and allowed for this bigger screen.
The Motorola Pro is a promising phone with good features that could compete with today's latest. Motorola hasn't lost the mobilephone market yet and they also have lots of mobile phone free laptop that might change your mind when buying the phone you have in mind.
