Mobile Phone Review: HTC Desire Z - A Fully Prepared Smart Phone Packed With Great Features

The phone also features a modest five megapixel camera, which seems less impressive than others on the market, however combined with a strong LED flash, autofocus, geo-tagging, face detection and 720p HD video recording it doesn’t seem too shabby. Indeed the flash is capable of illuminating gloomy and dark settings to a refreshing hue. The pictures and videos from the camera are vivid and sharp and the use of geo-tagging allows you to quickly upload those impressive shots directly to Flickr, Twitter and Facebook.

The phone offers some impressive connectivity options, including wi-fi, Bluetooth, GPRS, 3G, HDSPA, EDGE, USB, and much more. The QWERTY keyboard allows you a method of writing text messages and emails that feels like a breeze. The Android system allows you to download a multitude of apps, widgets and games as well as great Google features, including Google Talk, Gmail, Google Maps and much more.

The Friend Stream widget is capable of integrating all of your social networking into one accessible place, allowing for an easy way of keeping in touch. For those of you wanting a phone offering a way of listening to music on the move, the HTC Desire Z offers you a great music player with crisp, clear sound and a 3.5mm headphone jack for use with your own headphones rather than those that come with the phone.

With 1.5GB of internal memory and the use of microSD cards, you have plenty of space for your music as well as images, videos, text messages and much more. Unfortunately the 400 minutes of talk time and 430 hours of standby results in a battery life not quite as admired as other phones, however it is not the worst.

As a complete package the HTC Desire Z is a great smartphone offering a host of amazing features. Our favourite is the QWERTY keyboard and amazing screen, which are brilliant features for the phone’s size. This phone is definitely one to keep in consideration, however if you aren’t a fan of external keyboards you may want to look elsewhere.

The HTC Desire Z is a promising phone with good features that could compete with today's latest. HTC hasn't lost the mobilephone market yet and they also have lots of cheap iPhone deals that might change your mind when buying the phone you have in mind.
