The Aspen is Sony Ericsson's next attempt at creating a quality environmentally friendly mobile. This one is targeted at business users. Fortunately, this phone has more than just its green qualities. Packed with features and wrapped in an elegant, professional exterior, it's quite ideal for both work and fun.
Looking at the phone, you would be hard pressed to see right away what is so eco-friendly about its appearance. Unlike other earth conscious phones, you won't find any hokey khaki or green stamps here. Its plastic exterior, however, is 100% recycled and decorated with water based paints. Other earth friendly concepts include a charger made of recycled plastic and an electronic user manual.
Its packaging is made of recycled cardboard too. Its 2.4 inch touchscreen is big and bright and beautiful—and sadly resistive. However, it's not so difficult that it significantly slows the user down. We adore its full QWERTY keyboard, which is composed of a series of finger friendly keys. Its D-pad navigator was an interesting touch, though we think it might attract dust and lint.
Its Windows Mobile 6.5.3 interface is something you'll either love or loathe. Fortunately, its XPERIA panels allow you to alter your homescreen to your own taste. Bear in mind, however, that not all of the kinks have been quite worked out just yet.
